As close to pop's chili as I can get!

So I haven't been able to bring y'all anything new this past week so here is a recipe I pulled out since it was so rainey and cold. This past winter hasn't been very cold and I like to save my chili for cold nights. So I seen my short oppurtunity and grabbed it. My picutres are mediocre to say the least, but they'll have to do.
Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 roll of jimmy dean sausage
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 2 cups chopped celery
  • 2 (28-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 (28-ounce) can whole, peeled tomatoes
  • Ground cumin
  • Chili powder
  • 1 (14 1/2-ounce) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (14 1/2-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (14 1/2-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 package chili seasoning mix
  •  1 can of beer (completely optional but it really makes a difference)
Start off browning your ground beef and sausage then drain and transfer to crockpot

Then you're gonna add some of these bad boys!

I personally like the mexican spices due to the fact that they are only about $0.75 a packet and they taste just as good are your $5.00 spices.
and then of course you gotta throw in your beans. Be sure to drain and rinse them before adding!
Also I don't have kidney beans picutred due to the fact that I was out the day I made my chili :(

Once you have thrown everything but the kitchen sink in your crock it should look like this!
don't forget to crack open a beer and pour it in there too!

And after letting your chili simmer away for 6 hours this will be the finished product :)

Now you can garnish your chili however you like but for me just some cheese and a dollop of sour cream will do it. Don't forget the cornbread and dinner is served!

Bon Appetite!
